Our Story

About Spread-Rite

In 2005, demand for a convenient method of bedding poultry barns became an opportunity for Vern, owner of Nu-Matic Systems, to manufacture a solution. Through extensive testing, Vern built Spread-Rite shaving spreaders with poultry farmers like you in mind. He wanted to build a shaving spreader that would be labor efficient and cost effective. The Spread-Rite shaving spreader met both of these objectives. First, the Spread-Rite attachment was designed to fit small tractors most commonly used by poultry farmers, such as Steiner and Ventrac. Second, Spread-Rite was designed to create a uniform spread of shavings throughout the entire barn. This was a priority in the design because saving on wood shavings and labor costs would make the Spread-Rite attachment a good investment. A consistent and comfortable carpet of wood shavings also enhanced the temperature control of the barn floor, with no cold spots. Poultry farmers across the globe are now benefiting from the efficiency of the Spread-Rite shaving spreader.

Spread-Rite Testimonials

  • We are very satisfied with our Spread-Rite shaving spreaders and use three of them regularly on our broiler, pullet and breeder farms. All three of our spreaders are attached to Ventrac 4500Y. Spread-Rite is very good with wood shavings and one operator is able to lay shavings on the whole farm in few hours. Spread-Rite makes the job very quick and saves at least 4-6 workers’ time.

  • The Spread-rite attachment has been a fantastic tool for our broiler chicken business. In conjunction with the Ventrac tractor we now have a fast and accurate method of placing shaving in our sheds. The savings in litter material alone have justified the investment. Best of all our staff now look forward to a job that was once disliked by us all!
